Privacy Policy
ToolHub is an offline-first set of developer utilities. Most tools run locally in your browser.
Data processed locally
For tool usage (formatting, encoding, converting, etc.), your input stays in your browser by default and is not uploaded to our servers.
Data we collect
We only collect a minimal set of data required to deliver Pro and to operate the service safely:
- Email address (when you purchase Pro or sponsor ToolHub).
- Entitlement state for ToolHub Pro (active/expiry) linked to your email. Sponsorship payments do not create Pro entitlements.
- Webhook event IDs for idempotency (to prevent double-processing).
Email and purchases
If you purchase ToolHub Pro, we collect your email to link Pro entitlements and to send a magic link for sign-in. If you sponsor ToolHub (optional support), we use your email for payment receipt and a thank-you message; it does not activate Pro.
Service providers
We rely on the following service providers to operate payments and email delivery:
- Dodo Payments (payment processing and webhooks). Checkout sessions may include minimal metadata for fulfillment and attribution (for example: anonymous id, optional UTM tags, and a hash of your email—not the raw email—so purchases can be reconciled with first-party analytics).
- Resend (transactional email delivery for magic links).
- Vercel KV / Redis (storing entitlements and one-time magic tokens).
Cookies
We use an HTTP-only session cookie after you open a magic link. This cookie is used only to show your entitlement status (e.g. Pro).
We may also set a first-party, non-HTTP-only cookie named `toolhub_anon` containing a random anonymous identifier. It is not used for advertising retargeting by ToolHub itself; it helps us attribute basic product analytics (page views, ad/affiliate placement interactions, checkout funnel signals) and run simple A/B layout tests for non-Pro users.
Third-party advertising (optional)
If the site operator enables Google AdSense (or similar), those vendors may set their own cookies or use device identifiers to measure delivery, prevent fraud, and (where allowed) personalize ads. Requirements such as consent banners in the EEA/UK depend on your configuration, audience, and the vendor’s policies — ToolHub’s codebase does not embed a consent management platform (CMP) by default.
International users & taxes
ToolHub does not provide legal, tax, or accounting advice. Prices shown on the site are informational; actual charges, invoicing, and any VAT/GST/sales tax depend on Dodo Payments and your jurisdiction. Operators are responsible for complying with applicable privacy, consumer, and tax laws.
Optional analytics (first-party)
If enabled, ToolHub records lightweight, first-party events to our KV store (bounded retention). Events include a coarse page path, locale, anonymized identifiers, and interaction metadata (for example: affiliate link id, ad placement variant). We avoid collecting tool inputs.
Operators can disable client analytics via `NEXT_PUBLIC_ANALYTICS_ENABLED=false`, reduce volume via `ANALYTICS_SAMPLE_RATE`, and gate internal summaries via `ANALYTICS_ADMIN_TOKEN`.
Retention
We retain entitlement records to provide continued access and to prevent webhook replay. If you want your entitlement record removed, contact us.
